  • Celebrating Our Summer Artist Instructors, Students, and Volunteers for the 2025 Summer Artist Workshops!

The feedback is in! Take a look what our students are saying: It was wonderful! I am learning so much at the workshops and will continue to attend. I really enjoyed this class! I learned quite a bit, not only from the instructor, but from fellow participants. It was very nice to meet some other artists in the valley. The class size was perfect. Not too big not too small. Instructor was willing to help with anyone that had a question and was a very kind and encouraging mentor. Fabulous art collection, great venue for artists to mingle and chat. Kurt was a great driver : ) JNR is an incredible teacher! It was so fun and I learned a new skill that I will use forever! Please invite her back. Most comprehensive workshop attended to date. We discussed painting composition, warm and cool colors in depth, and advanced layout and planning for painting in oil and pastels. Lorenzo was very through and prepared a book with instructions, he did demo’s and spent time with each artist Wonderful workshop, lots of very helpful information, explanation and demonstration. Loved the small size which allowed for lots of one-on-one attention and the opportunity to get to know the facilitator and the other artists more then when they are bigger classes. Joan was fun, knowledgeable and helpful. I’m considering taking her class next year which would be my third class with her. It was delightful to meet new artist and experience a different form of art Elaine is very clear and thoughtful and makes the workshops fun! This workshop provided a learning opportunity for all levels of artists. Joanne also did a very nice job helping everyone too ,and advertising upcoming Guild events which was good. Elaine was a delightful instructor. She gave us lots of great ideas and enough guidance. I would love to do another workshop with her. As summer draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible moments we've shared these past few months. This summer wasn’t just filled with art classes and workshops; it was an outpouring of creativity, collaboration, and community spirit. We are deeply grateful to our instructors, students, and volunteers who made this summer truly unforgettable. Our Inspiring Instructors Our instructors are the heart of any successful art class or workshop. This summer, we were lucky to have a dedicated team of passionate individuals who brought their unique skills and insights to our programs. According to feedback from 90% of our students, our instructors succeeded in creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment. Note: all registration is closed for these past events, but you can click on each to see details and set your goals for next summer! Each instructor not only taught techniques but also cultivated a space where students felt comfortable expressing themselves. Their ability to connect with each student and motivate them to explore their creativity was extraordinary. For instance, during a watercolor workshop, one instructor encouraged students to experiment with bold colors. By the end of the week, several students shared their works, showcasing a transformation in style and confidence. 2. Talented Students Our students truly embody the spirit of our summer workshops. This year, we saw a remarkable range of talent and enthusiasm, from first-time artists to experienced creators. One standout was a 12-year-old beginner who, with encouragement, produced a stunning self-portrait that won praises from classmates. The energy in every classroom was electric, as students collaborated and learned from each other. Friendships blossomed, and artistic skills flourished with each passing day. Our diverse student body, reflecting various backgrounds and experiences, brought richness to the learning environment. In fact, surveys indicated a 95% satisfaction rate with the collaborative atmosphere we fostered. 3. Dedicated Volunteers Our volunteers were essential in ensuring that every aspect of our workshops ran smoothly. Their commitment allowed instructors to focus fully on teaching while providing invaluable assistance to students. From preparing classrooms to aiding during sessions, volunteers went above and beyond. For example, one volunteer organized a supply drive that gathered over 200 art materials, which significantly enhanced our workshops. Their enthusiasm and readiness to help were instrumental in ensuring a successful experience for all attendees. We cannot thank them enough for their selfless contributions. 4. Memorable Workshops This summer, we offered an exciting range of art classes and workshops tailored to various interests and skill levels. From painting and drawing to sculpture and mixed media, there was something for everyone. Each workshop was designed to foster creativity, allowing students to try new techniques and materials. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 88% of students reporting that they enjoyed the interactive format and hands-on learning approach. Highlights included a mixed media class where participants created vibrant collage pieces, leaving students with not just skills but tangible memories of their creative journey. 5. Building a Community One of the most rewarding aspects of our summer programs was the strong sense of community that emerged among instructors, students, and volunteers. The shared love for art helped forge lasting connections and friendships that went beyond classroom walls. Art has a remarkable ability to unite people. This summer was a perfect example, as collaborative projects and group activities strengthened bonds in our community. Many participants expressed how this shared experience motivated them to continue their artistic pursuits and maintain connections with their peers even after the summer ended. A Heartfelt Thank You As we close this season, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our instructors, students, and volunteers. Your passion, creativity, and dedication transformed this summer into a memorable season. Together, we built not just artistic skills, but a vibrant community. We eagerly await the future, ready to welcome more inspiring classes and workshops. Thank you for being an integral part of our artistic journey!
